what’s up?

Well let’s see… this sassy new family blog is what’s up.

I am not very good at keeping up my business blog although I know some of you check it once in a while to see what I am up to. But I don’t get very personal on there to be honest… I don’t feel super confident letting the world into all our secrets :P

So let’s see…

Thomas and Andrew went mountain bike shopping Saturday and now Thomas has a kick ass new Diamond Back bike. They went for a long ride and it was really successful! Those of you who don’t know… Thomas doesn’t have a ton of biking experience because we lived on a mountain in California and just hasn’t had a bike since we got back, and when in Lowell he’s in the city which is a little dangerous. Portland is certainly a smaller, safer place to ride. Plus we have Back Cove which is a 4 mile loop around a pretty cool body of water. Anyway, Thomas did great and did about 3 miles that first day. Sunday, while I did my client maternity shoot… they did 7 miles around town! Go Thomas. I’m super impressed with Thomas and Andrew :) Thomas will need that bike for freedom to get away from his crying wee brother this summer and hopefully be able to escape to the city pool down the road.

Julia (one of my 2 very best friends from high school) had her baby daughter Jura on Wed May 27 and she is gorgeous! 7 pounds 12 ounces and almost 3 weeks early! Oh I can only hope to be so lucky :P I was lucky enough to see her last Friday and get in a little newborn photo shoot. I feel so lucky to have been able to do that. It really meant the world to me to get down there and get these images for Julia and Scott. She is one GORGEOUS baby! You can see baby Jura’s gallery here:

I will be 34 weeks this Wed so it’s getting close! I have a feeling this guy is going to come early so I stopped driving to MA every week. I can’t really sit for that long and my ankles are now non existent. Although my blood pressure is awesome and I feel good… its getting very hard to walk. I stop working June 15, being a photographer and staying on your feet all day while trying to move quickly is tough without being pregnant. Andrew has been the best and helps me with all my shoots lately. He may have to take over some of my newborn work this summer. I did several belli and baby shoots and I won’t be available (possibly) for some of the babies! He’ll need the practice anyway.

I included some images from our maternity shoots (we did 2) with our friend Rochelle Haisley who came all the way from Florida and did some amazing stuff for me:

And Mariah who lives in Rowley and will be shooting the birth and newborn family photos for us as well. Mom was instructed not to bring her camera into the delivery room, she’s supposed to be my coach :P and I know she won’t be able to resist breaking out the camera! I may let her take a snap or 2 as long as I am not screaming in agony.

More tomorrow after our first Birthing Class tonight at 6:30! Wahoo!
